Mercer is seeking candidates for the position of Risk Subject Matter Expert.
We are currently seeking a talented individual to join our Mercer Risk Management team as the Risk Subject Matter Expert. This role will be based in either Melbourne or Sydney. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office and is also a Fixed Term Contract position.
In this pivotal role, you will leverage your deep Line 2 risk expertise to support the review and enhancement of policies and frameworks within Mercer Super. You will play a key role in a regulator-mandated risk transformation program, designing and implementing uplifted policies and frameworks while fostering a culture of risk awareness across the organization.
We will count on you to:
- Conduct design and operating effectiveness reviews of existing policies and frameworks, and draft updated frameworks and policies for approval.
- Provide expert input into risk management practices, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Partner with business leaders to advise on governance, risk, compliance obligations, and emerging risks, while supporting risk and control assessments.
- Support initiatives to enhance skills and capabilities related to governance, risk, and compliance across the business.
- Actively contribute to the development of frameworks, tools, and processes to effectively manage and forecast risks.
What you need to have:
- University-level qualifications in business management or a related field.
- 5-10 years of experience in a risk, compliance, or legal role, with a focus on superannuation regulation.
- Proven ability to operate within risk and compliance frameworks, with a strategic and commercial approach to compliance.
- Strong analytical skills to prepare reports on risk profiles, compliance plans, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in providing information to Boards and Directors.
