Senior/Staff Software Development Engineer, EV Platform

Mapbox is a real-time location platform that powers the navigation of people, packages, and vehicles. The EV Platform team powers the charging infrastructure data layer behind Mapbox's electric vehicle products. The team aggregates and processes real-time and static EV charging station data from charge point operators around the world.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Rust (3+ years) for production backend services.
• Experience building highly available backend services and data pipelines in container-based environments on AWS.
• Knowledge of data engineering concepts, including pipeline design, data quality validation, and large-scale data processing.
• Knowledge of distributed systems (fault-tolerance, consistency, service discovery).
• System architecture experience and understanding of architectural concepts.
• Ability to improve services based on data analysis and performance profiling.
• Excellent team player with the ability to work within a collaborative environment.
• Enthusiasm for learning and knowledge sharing, supported by strong communication skills in English.
• Passion about programming and a strong focus on quality. Implementation of automated tests.
