The role:
As the Hardware Platform Architect at Lumin, you will be making key design decisions that ensure our family of products delight the customer, meet functional requirements and advance the future of energy management solutions. You will lead collaborative technical discussions and develop necessary requirements guidelines for both electrical and mechanical engineers.
You'll be responsible for:
- Provide technical guidance for the next generation of Lumin products.
- Collaborate with product and software teams to ensure optimal integration.
- Develop system-level hardware architecture.
- Research technologies, products, and industry trends in the energy management industry.
What you bring to the table:
- At least five years of experience as a Hardware Systems Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, or equivalent.
- Experience synthesizing system design and communicating tradeoffs from competing requirements.
- Experience with all stages of the Product Development Lifecycle for consumer electronics or energy management systems.
- Familiarity with Altium Designer or another ECAD tool.
- Familiarity with OnShape or another MCAD tool.
- Familiarity with requirements tracking.
This role will be expected to make one or two trips to contract manufacturing facilities, in coordination between the employee and manager.
This position is located in Charlottesville, VA, and requires the employee to be on-site, however, Lumin is flexible with working from home where possible.
