The story of Lucra Sports began with a simple, relatable rivalry between two friends. Founder and CEO Dylan Robbins and COO Michael Madding, who met while working at Goldman Sachs, shared a passion for sports and a competitive streak that led to endless friendly wagers. However, they quickly realized that the existing landscape of sports betting was often too complex, impersonal, and transactional for the kind of social, banter-filled competition they enjoyed. They wanted a platform that wasn't just about winning money from a faceless house, but about the thrill of beating your friends and the bragging rights that came with it.

Driven by this vision, they launched Lucra Sports in 2019 to democratize friendly competition. Unlike traditional sportsbooks, Lucra was built as a peer-to-peer marketplace, allowing users to create their own contests, set their own terms, and challenge friends directly on player performances. What started as a consumer-facing app to facilitate safe and legal wagering among friends has since evolved into a robust B2B technology provider.
