Overview

LMI seeks a skilled Change Management Consultant to support activities related to shipyard modernization as part of enterprise-wide U.S. Navy strategic modernization and improvement efforts. LMI is helping NAVSUP, NAVSEA, and the shipyards use technology to track materiel through the shipyards to address long-standing problems. The Change Management Consultant will develop and implement strategies and plans that maximize user and stakeholder adoption and usage of required changes and new technology. These responsibilities include the development of plans and efforts to anticipate and minimize resistant behaviors from users and stakeholders who are impacted by the changes.

Responsibilities

Work with functional project leaders to:

  • Develop and/or update change management strategies and plans to aid transformation efforts.
  • Develop a set of actionable and targeted change management activities and tools (i.e., communication plan, adoption activities roadmaps, stakeholder map, resistance management plan, user and customer feedback methods and reporting) while considering adoption, reinforcement, and celebration.
  • Apply a scalable and structured change management approach to support the people-side of change, including baselining of change readiness.
  • Identify potential people-sided risks, anticipated points of resistance, and develop specific plans to mitigate or address these concerns.
  • Partner with the Project Management Office and executive management to ensure critical issues related to change and adoption management are captured and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Support the Business Transformation Manager, Training Manager, Strategic Communications Lead, project management, quality management, planning, status reporting activities.
  • Define and measure success metrics and monitor change progress.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of change efforts, identify performance gaps, work to develop and implement interventions when needed; capture and apply lessons learned to achieve continuous improvement.
  • Articulate change management strategy and user adoption to a wide user base of executives and staff.
  • Ensure adherence to established change management processes and procedures for audit compliance.
  • Manage activities associated with the Change Advisory Board.
  • Create and manage a Change Log to track requested changes.
  • Collaborate with change requestors to ensure proper documentation is provided within each change.
  • Oversee and/or execute initiatives in accordance with project plans, tools, and methodologies.
  • Facilitate change management activities with cross-functional team members and stakeholders to understand and ensure adoption of NADACS processes and policies.
  • Coordinate with other departments and leaders to leverage expertise in support of change and adoption efforts.
  • Work with cross-functional business partners to ensure consistency throughout the adoption program lifecycle and share common understanding of business impacts due to system and process transformation.

Percentage of Travel Required: 10%

Qualifications

Required:

  • 10 years of Change Management and strategic communications experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of change management methodologies, best practices, tools, and techniques applied in an IT environment.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong Project Management skills and affinity for working in an unstructured environment.
  • Must be able to work both collaboratively and independently and take initiative to identify, track, and resolve issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to build relationships with colleagues across business lines and levels.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and push through business challenges.
  • Drive results and demonstrate a strong sense of accountability and follow-through.
  • Ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, presentation, oral, and written skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint.
  • Active Secret clearance required.

Preferred:

  • Certification in change management methodologies (i.e. Prosci).
  • Familiarity with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
  • Familiarity with Lean practices.
  • Solid facilitation skills at multiple management levels.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience driving cross-functional group coordination and collaboration.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous or rapidly changing environments.
