Reporting to the EII Sr. Category Manager. The role is designed as an individual contributor. The candidate will take direct responsibility for Magnet wire, Silver strips, Melamine, Cables, Solder, Adhesive, Ceramics, etc. and raw materials such asferrous and non-ferrous alloys. The role has global category management responsibility for materials consumed at all EII facilities globally. Key responsibilities include: management of category, setting category strategy, maintaining AVL, lead sourcing, commercial negotiation, RFQ, supplier management, Multisource, rebalancing, consolidation, Cost models and supporting special initiatives as necessary. Collaboration and networking with other category managers and other regions is key for the role, this role will need to support supplier development and negotiations from other global categories within the region you are based.

About Your Job

  • Manage category strategy and work with cross-functional team to implement strategy on different product lines, consolidate and renationalize our global supplier base, transfer more spend/allocation to strategic suppliers. 25%

  • Manage suppliers in cost, quality, delivery and service to ensure the competitiveness of Littelfuse (including price and commercial terms negotiation), regular business review with strategic suppliers, drive actions for poor performance suppliers. 20%

  • Develop and execute annual cost reduction plan (including VeVa projects and negotiation) to achieve annual cost reduction targets with cost model implementation, work with engineering team to implement cost saving projects on time; nego payment term to ensure competitive DPO. 20%

  • Collaborate with other Category managers on the other regions and support and/or lead negotiations , find new suppliers and help developed other sources within your region. 20%

  • Monitor industry trends, rules, performance, market conditions; collection of market, competitors’ status and information analysis. Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver the market intelligence, industry insight. 15%

About You

  • 10+ years of experience in procurement, especially focused on category management.

  • 10+ years experience with manufactured products (industrial end markets experience preferred).

  • Experienced developing strong, mutually beneficial relationships with key stakeholders

  • Ability to analyze and interpret multiple sets of data and work out concise, insightful analysis

  • Skilled in sourcing process, contracting and negotiation.

  • Ability to think deeply when analyzing the data and presenting the result.

  • Experience setting category strategy and applying strategy setting models such as Porters 5 forces, SWOT analysis, AT Kearney Chessboard, etc.

  • Ability to interact and engage with peers with good communication skills.

  • Able to work independently and under pressure as well as be a strong team player, always seeking to improve team and organizational performance

  • Self-management skills and self-started attitude highly valued

  • English communication, both verbal and written is a must.

  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

  • Strong communication skill, rich project management skill.

  • Cost modeling knowledge.

Littelfuse's story began in 1927, born from the ingenuity of Edward V. Sundt. Working in Chicago, Sundt, a man with a diverse background that included time as a Royal Canadian Mounted Police officer, frequently encountered electrical failures in diagnostic equipment. This frustration sparked an idea. He developed a small, fast-acting protective fuse designed to prevent sensitive test meters from burning out. With $150 from selling his Chevrolet, Sundt founded Littelfuse Laboratories in a modest second-floor room on Wilson Avenue, Chicago. The name itself was a clever workaround; when the U.S. government denied a trademark for 'Little fuse' due to the commonality of the words, Sundt simply reversed the 'l' and 'e' to create 'Littelfuse'.

The company's early years were marked by steady growth and adaptation. Initially focused on fuses for radios and other electronics, Littelfuse expanded its reach. By 1939, it established a new manufacturing facility in Chicago to produce fuses for the burgeoning automotive and aircraft industries. The 1940s saw further expansion to meet the critical protection needs of communications and aviation during World War II. As television sets became a household staple in the 1950s, Littelfuse astutely moved into producing television fuses, alongside new automotive switches and relays. The company went public in 1962 and, a year later, moved its headquarters to Des Plaines, Illinois. The 1960s also saw Littelfuse contribute to the space race, developing sub-miniature fuses for NASA. A significant development came in 1976 with the introduction of the Autofuse, the first blade-type fuse for automobiles, which quickly became an industry standard. Throughout the decades, Littelfuse continued to innovate and expand, navigating acquisitions and reincorporations, including becoming an independent public company again in 1991. Today, Littelfuse stands as a global manufacturing company with a broad portfolio of technologies in circuit protection, power control, and sensing, serving diverse markets including automotive, industrial, electronics, and medical devices. Headquartered in the Chicago area, the company has a significant global presence with numerous sales, distribution, manufacturing, and engineering facilities across the Americas, Europe, and Asia.
