After three years of rigorous research and development, Dr. Griffin successfully created a clinically acceptable 3D printed ceramic bracket. Recognizing the potential impact of this innovation, he partnered with Dr. Lou Shuman to form a team of biomechanical engineers, hardware engineers, and software developers to further develop advanced solutions for the orthodontics industry. In 2019, LightForce received FDA clearance and launched its system at the AAO Annual Session.
