The Los Angeles Unified School District was created in 1872 and has grown to become a cornerstone of education in California. Our mission centers on realizing excellence for all students by providing the unique, rigorous, and culturally relevant education that each and every student deserves. We are committed to 100 percent graduation, proficiency for all, 100 percent attendance, parent and community engagement, and school safety. As a public school district, we offer pathways from Preschool all the way through Adult and Career Education, serving diverse communities across Los Angeles County.
