Responsibilities
- Assist senior engineers in designing electrical wiring systems for facilities, including power distribution, lighting, controls, and communication systems, using Revit and other engineering software.
- Learn and apply basic electrical engineering principles and calculations, including load analysis, voltage drop, and circuit design.
- Support the preparation of electrical drawings, plans, and specifications in compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and project requirements.
- Collaborate with project teams, architects, and contractors to integrate electrical systems into overall building designs and infrastructure projects.
- Participate in site surveys, inspections, and field investigations to assist in assessing existing electrical systems and identifying potential issues.
- Assist in reviewing electrical submittals, shop drawings, and construction documents for compliance with design specifications and codes.
- Learn and apply project management principles, including scheduling, coordination, and documentation of engineering deliverables.
- Support electrical system testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Stay updated with industry standards, best practices, and technological advancements in electrical engineering and building codes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited university.
- Basic knowledge or coursework in electrical engineering principles, including electrical circuits, power systems, and wiring design.
- Familiarity with Revit software or other CAD tools for engineering design and modeling.
- Interest in learning and applying the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other relevant codes and standards.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
