The role you’ll play

You will bridge the gap between data systems and actionable business intelligence. In this role, you will transform raw data into value by architecting robust data pipelines, building intuitive dashboards, and uncovering insights that improve the performance of our machine translation solutions.

The team you’ll be a part of

You will join the Machine Learning Team, where we build LanguageWire’s machine translation (MT) engines, quality estimation models, and adjacent services designed to predict performance and maximize translator efficiency. We constantly explore and apply state-of-the-art approaches and advancements in the field. With a research-based approach and the use of the latest technologies, we push the boundaries of ML to deliver innovative solutions.

Our systems operate on a large scale, generating vast amounts of data. We are looking for an Analytics Engineer with strong analytical capabilities to help us make sense of this data landscape. You will collaborate closely with Machine Learning Engineers, Data Engineers, and Software Engineers, reporting directly to the Team Lead in ML.

  • Orchestrating data ecosystems: Optimizing, maintaining, building out our data pipelines and dashboards. You will take ownership of everything from data sourcing to data visualization.
  • Mastering the domain: Becoming an expert in our domain and on our data and the “go to” expert to ask for insights.
  • Driving discovery: Proactively seeking new methods to extract value, identify trends, and tell compelling stories through data.
  • Innovating with AI: Leveraging GenAI and LLMs to generate novel insights from unstructured textual data.

What does it take to work for LanguageWire?

What you’ll need to bring

  • Educational background: A relevant degree (B.Sc/M.Sc) combined with at least 2 years of relevant work experience in analytics or data engineering.
  • Database expertise: Fluency in SQL, capable of writing complex, performant queries. You need to understand how analytical databases such as Snowflake or Big Query work. We use Big Query.
  • Analytical mindset: A strong track record in data analysis and data storytelling, with the ability to draw clear conclusions from complex datasets.
  • Programming skills: Solid Python programming experience for data manipulation and scripting.
  • Pipeline orchestration: Hands-on experience with tools such as Airflow, dbt, or similar frameworks.
  • Cloud fluency: Experience with working in a Cloud environment (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Visualization mastery: Proven experience managing and building dashboards (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau, Looker).
  • Collaboration: The ability to work with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and translate them into technical solutions.

  • Experience working with LLMs and extracting insights from unstructured textual information.
  • An interest in languages, linguistics, and translation technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Big Query, dbt and ELT pipelines
