The Role
Purpose of the role
We are looking for talented BI Analytics Consultants to join our team. You will be a proactive individual who puts users first, diving deep to understand their business challenges and requirements. Using your technical expertise, you will develop cutting-edge BI reports with clear visuals, reliable data models and robust data pipelines.
Team
The Data Digital team helps people to use data effectively to improve the performance of their projects or organisations. To do this effectively and at scale we use modern digital technologies including Azure, Fabric, Power BI and Power Platform. We pride ourselves on being structured and outcome driven, helping us to build the best solutions and helping us to continuously improve what we do.
Your top 5 responsibilities
1. Building fit-for-purpose reports for our clients: Develop Power BI reports tailored to clients' needs by developing a deep understanding of the business problems being solved.
2. Building impactful data solutions for internal reporting: Helping Laminar to become data driven by developing effective internal reporting that drive decision making.
3. Productisation of client solutions: Designing and building reusable reports, configuring the back-end and front-end to work across different data sets and systems.
4. Following and developing our processes: Following our best practices and identifying areas for us to improve by refining or introducing new processes.
5. Commit to continuous learning and development: Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and explore areas beyond your immediate job responsibilities to expand your expertise, imparting that knowledge onto others.
Your Capabilities
As a candidate, you should have:
- Degree educated in one of the following: Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related professional qualifications.
- 3+ years of developing Power BI reports that are used across an organisation.
- Working with multiple stakeholders to gather requirements in a structured approach.
- Development of wireframes and design documentation.
- Experience of designing robust data models and pipelines.
It would also be great if you are/have:
- Microsoft Certified (e.g., Power BI Data Analyst Associate, Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate).
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric
- Wider knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform including Power Apps, Power Automate and Dataverse.
- Experience in SQL, Python, Spark, Azure Data Factory, Databricks.
- Involved with creating company standards and processes around Power BI development.
- Consultancy experience.
