Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer with strong expertise in Snowflake and data pipeline migration to lead a Lift & Shift project. The mission involves migrating workflows from Hadoop/Hive into Snowflake, leveraging Dataiku and big data processing frameworks such as Spark.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the migration of workflows from Hadoop/Hive to Snowflake.

• Design and implement a migration factory to industrialise and automate the migration process.

• Develop and optimise Dataiku workflows for data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration.

• Automate ETL/ELT pipelines to improve efficiency, reliability, and scalability.

• Analyse existing workflows to identify performance issues and propose improvements.

• Ensure smooth integration and high-performance data solutions in Snowflake.

• Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions.

• Document processes and provide technical support for knowledge transfer.

Requirements for the role

• Minimum 5+ years as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.

• Proven experience in data migration projects, ideally lift & shift scenarios.

• Strong expertise with Snowflake (data modelling, optimisation, performance tuning, security).

• Hands-on experience with Dataiku or equivalent tools (Alteryx, Talend, Azure Data Factory, Informatica, Knime, Apache NiFi).

• Proficiency in big data frameworks such as Apache Spark, or alternatives (Databricks, Flink, Beam).

• Advanced SQL skills and experience with relational/analytical databases.

• Able to communicate in French

• Fluent in English

• Must be a Portuguese or European citizen or have a work permit for Portugal

Good to have

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

• Programming knowledge in Python or Scala for data engineering.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for data workflows.

• Understanding of data governance, quality, and security best practices.
