Job Summary

Keyrus is seeking a Senior C# Developer to join a high-impact project focused on building secure, cloud-native data applications for the insurance sector. The mission is to design and implement scalable, compliant systems that handle sensitive personal and health information (PII/PHI) across regions. This role requires strong backend development expertise in C#/.NET, cloud integration with Azure, and familiarity with modern UI frameworks like Blazor for internal tool development.

This position is remote, but you must be based in Portugal or Spain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement microservices using C# and .NET
  • Build internal tools with Blazor for data visualisation, dashboards, and form-based data entry
  • Develop reusable UI components to enhance usability and workflow efficiency
  • Build secure and auditable REST APIs for data ingestion, validation, processing, and provisioning
  • Write and optimise SQL queries and stored procedures for aggregation, validation, and extraction
  • Integrate with data privacy vaults and secure APIs for regional data access
  • Integrate APIs and services with Azure App Services, API Management, Service Bus, and Kubernetes
  • Apply secure coding practices: encryption, tokenisation, and authentication
  • Implement tokenisation/detokenization logic for PII/PHI in line with data privacy laws
  • Manage and query Azure SQL, Snowflake, and related data systems
  • Work in sprints with the development team; participate in code reviews
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation in Azure
  • Write unit and integration tests to ensure quality and compliance
  • Document code, architecture, and API contracts for audits and team use

Requirements for the role

  • 6+ years of professional experience with C#/.NET backend development
  • Strong knowledge of REST API design, microservices, and secure coding standards
  • Experience with Azure services: App Services, API Gateway, Kubernetes, Service Bus
  • Solid database skills: SQL Server
  • Familiarity with Azure SQL
  • Hands-on experience with Blazor for internal web tools and data visualisation UIs
  • Familiarity with data tokenisation, encryption, and privacy regulation compliance
  • Proven track record of working in Agile teams, DevOps culture, and cloud-native projects
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Fluent in English
  • Must be a Portuguese or European citizen or have a work permit for Portugal

Good to have:

  • Experience with data privacy vaults or API-based tokenisation services
  • Knowledge of insurance or healthcare data compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA)
  • Experience working in multi-region or multi-cloud deployments
  • Familiarity with Snowflake and stored procedures knowledge
  • Previous contributions to setting up DevOps pipelines in Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
