The role is available on a self-employed contractor basis only. Contractor basis are responsible for their own accounting and tax payments within the country they are based.
Location: Remote with occasional global travel.

JOB SUMMARY:
The role supports WSAVA’s education strategy by producing high-quality, accessible content in a range of digital formats, aligned with modern learning approaches and the needs of diverse, international audiences.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Digital Learning Specialist plays a key role in bringing WSAVA’s educational content to life. Working closely with the Secretariat, Education Committee, subject matter experts, and external partners, the role is responsible for developing digital learning resources that are engaging, relevant, and easy to access. Key responsibilities include:
1. Designing and producing digital learning resources across a range of formats, such as e-learning modules, short courses, webinars, videos, microlearning, and downloadable resources
2. Working with subject matter experts and committees to translate complex technical content into clear, engaging, and learner-focused digital materials
3. Applying modern digital learning principles and instructional design approaches to ensure resources are effective, inclusive, and accessible for a global audience
4. Supporting the planning and delivery of online educational activities, including webinars, virtual workshops, and learning programs
5. Supporting evaluation and continuous improvement of learning resources, using learner feedback and data insights to refine and enhance content
6. Ensuring educational resources align with WSAVA’s standards, strategic priorities, and brand guidelines
7. Staying informed about emerging trends in digital learning and applying relevant innovations to WSAVA’s education activities
8. Compliance with all WSAVA policy and processes
9. Other tasks and activities which may be reasonably expected of the role

REQUIREMENTS:
Essential Criteria:
1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
2. A minimum of 2 years practical experience authoring digital learning content in Articulate Storyline and Rise
3. Strong ability to take complex or highly technical raw content and translate it into clear, engaging, and audience-appropriate visuals and messaging
4. Comfortable working through iterative review and versioning cycles, adapting content based on feedback to ensure accuracy and impact
5. Ability to work collaboratively with subject matter experts, volunteers, and international stakeholders
6. Understanding of adult learning principles, modern digital learning methods and accessibility standards
7. Confidence working with digital platforms, learning management systems, and SCORM files for troubleshooting, uploading and debugging
8. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
9. A genuine passion for companion animals and an appreciation for the work of veterinary professionals globally
10. Willingness to adapt to changing priorities, manage multiple work streams simultaneously, and work across multiple time zones

Desirable Criteria:
1. Experience working in education within a nonprofit, membership, or international organization
2. Familiarity with veterinary, animal health, healthcare, or scientific education content
3. Experience supporting online learning communities
4. Experience with localization of content and multilanguage workflows
5. Knowledge of instructional design principles
6. Skills in video editing, animation and motion graphics
7. Vibe coding experience for creating AI assisted e learning interactions and scenarios
8. Ability to speak/write in a second language
