About Fourwaves
We are Fourwaves, a company born out of firsthand academic experience. It all started in 2012 when four Ph.D. students in bioinformatics at the Université de Sherbrooke in Canada were organizing a large student conference. They needed an easy way to plan and manage the event, but no tool was available at the time, so they built a website from scratch to help streamline the process. The event was a success, and local researchers organizing other conferences began asking if they could use a similar website for their own events. This is how we realized how helpful it would be to have a self-serve platform for researchers that would allow them to save time and have a professional event platform. Over the years, Fourwaves has been rebuilt by our team of passionate internal engineers, with the constant objective of creating a modern, easy-to-use, and affordable platform specialized in academic events.
