Just Right Reader

Just Right Reader was established with a mission to enhance reading achievement for all students through engaging and supportive literacy resources. Founded by Sara Rich, a former principal with over 20 years in the education sector, the inspiration for Just Right Reader stemmed from her own challenges in helping her daughter become a successful reader. Sara recognized that existing decodable books often lacked the engagement needed to spark interest in young readers. As a result, she collaborated with leading literacy experts to create a series of decodable books that are not only academically rigorous but also relatable and enjoyable for children.

Today, Just Right Reader offers a comprehensive library of over 850 decodable books in both English and Spanish, all designed to align with a robust phonics progression. Each of our books is crafted to reflect the diverse experiences of children, featuring relatable characters and inclusive stories that resonate with young readers. This approach ensures that as kids learn to read, they see themselves in the stories they explore. Our resources extend beyond just books; we incorporate video lessons and personalized Take-Everywhere Literacy Packs to create a truly interactive reading experience that motivates and empowers young learners. Our ongoing commitment is to cultivate a love for reading that encourages academic success and lifelong literacy.
