The Role
Pungalina is a vast wildlife sanctuary stretching from the Savannah Way to the pristine coastline of the Gulf of Carpentaria. Owned and operated by the Australian Wildlife Conservancy, it protects a diverse range of ecosystems, including over 350 species of mammals, birds, reptiles and frogs.
Outback Spirit is seeking an experienced couple to manage the Pungalina Safari Camp in the heart of the sanctuary for our touring season, ending in September. This is a unique opportunity to live onsite in provided accommodation in an extremely beautiful and remote location.
Both roles are very hands-on managing the day-to-day operations of the property including leading and managing staff, carrying out maintenance, guest activities, infrastructure, rosters, logistics and administration. Specifically, you will be responsible for creating an unforgettable environment and experiences for our guests.
At least one person MUST have their Coxswain License and the ability to take our guests out on the Calvert River.
The role will also involve, but is not limited to:
- Actively working towards meeting the Net Promoter Scores (NPS)
- Ensure the team is delivering impeccable guest-facing experience
- Support and lead the team to deliver an exceptional food and beverage experience to our guests
- Ensuring budgets are met and cost-controlled across the lodge
- Support and lead the team in providing immaculate and high standard of guest accommodation
- Drive a culture of safety, ensuring all incidents and hazards are reported and investigated in a timely manner
- Complete all administrative tasks as required by the operations team
- Take an active role in inductions, and staff training
- Other management tasks required for the successful running of the lodge
