We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help shape and evolve a mission-critical billing platform that supports complex financial workflows at scale. In this role, you will contribute to the technical foundation that powers seamless billing experiences, ensuring reliability, transparency, and performance across core product systems. You will drive architectural decisions, guide best engineering practices, and collaborate closely with product and infrastructure teams to deliver scalable backend services. Accountabilities
- Design, evolve, and maintain highly scalable backend systems that support performance and high availability across essential workflows.
- Write clean, maintainable, production-ready code, balancing development speed with technical rigor.
- Conduct thorough code reviews and offer mentorship to elevate engineering standards across the team.
- Lead architectural decisions and cross-functional technical initiatives in collaboration with product, infrastructure, and leadership partners.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to reliability, uptime, observability, and system performance.
- Drive long-term improvements in service architecture, data modeling, and system design.
- Contribute to roadmap execution and support mission-critical financial infrastructure.
Requirements
- 6+ years of backend engineering experience, with proven ownership of end-to-end development for production systems.
- Strong systems-thinking mindset, with the ability to design for reliability, performance, and maintainability.
- Technical expertise in backend languages such as Python, along with strong knowledge of data modeling and distributed service architecture.
- Ability to execute efficiently while balancing short-term delivery with long-term quality.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-changing environments and translating vague requirements into clear technical direction.
- Bonus points for experience with billing systems, revenue cycle management, or health insurance workflows.
- Bonus points for Python experience or notable technical side projects.
