In this role, you will lead quality assurance efforts for advanced scientific software products, ensuring high reliability and performance across complex applications. You will design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks while collaborating closely with developers, application scientists, and DevOps engineers. The position involves driving testing strategies for functional, regression, integration, and system levels, while mentoring junior QA engineers and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. You will play a critical role in translating scientific and technical requirements into robust, scalable test solutions. Accountabilities:
• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable automation test suites for web-based scientific applications.
• Define and execute comprehensive test strategies and plans, ensuring coverage across functional, regression, integration, and system tests.
• Collaborate with product teams to identify test scenarios, reproduce complex defects, and validate bug fixes.
• Drive quality engineering best practices and integrate QA into CI/CD workflows.
• Document test results, automation processes, and framework enhancements accurately.
• Contribute to overall test architecture and mentor junior QA and automation engineers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality software delivery in fast-paced environments.
Requirements
• 6+ years of experience in QA/testing, with at least 4 years focused on automation.
• Expertise in Cypress, including custom commands, debugging, plugin integration, Shadow DOM handling, and scalable Page Object Models.
• Strong TypeScript knowledge, including interfaces, generics, and asynchronous programming.
• Proven experience in designing test cases, documenting test scenarios, and creating reusable test frameworks.
• Ability to interpret API documentation and implement high-quality automated tests.
• Solid understanding of Git workflows, branch management, and collaborative tools such as JIRA.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work autonomously.
• Preferred: experience with performance testing (e.g., K6), data integrity validation, or scientific software applications.
