This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Instructional Designer in the United States.
This role is designed for an experienced learning professional responsible for creating, implementing, and evaluating engaging training solutions across multiple modalities. You will collaborate with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams to design instructor-led, virtual, and digital learning experiences that drive measurable business outcomes. The position emphasizes applying advanced adult learning principles, instructional design models, and emerging technologies to optimize knowledge retention and performance. You will lead projects, mentor junior instructional designers, and continuously improve training programs to ensure alignment with organizational goals. This role offers the opportunity to influence the learning strategy, enhance the employee experience, and contribute to large-scale initiatives across the organization.
Accountabilities
- Conduct thorough needs assessments and collaborate with subject matter experts to design innovative learning solutions.
- Develop and implement project plans, applying instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles to achieve performance objectives.
- Lead cross-functional training projects, coordinating team members and external resources to deliver high-quality training content.
- Create and maintain instructional materials, including facilitator guides, workbooks, e-learning modules, simulations, role-plays, and multimedia content.
- Evaluate training effectiveness using surveys, assessments, and other performance metrics, continuously improving learning programs.
- Maintain project documentation, monitor progress, and report on outcomes according to project management standards.
- Mentor and guide junior instructional designers, sharing best practices and fostering professional growth.
- Research and apply emerging trends, tools, and technologies in learning and development to enhance training programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Six to eight years of instructional design and training development experience, including curriculum development, graphic design, and blended learning.
- Proficiency in instructional design tools and software, including Articulate360 (Storyline & Rise), Vyond, Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, and web authoring tools.
- Strong knowledge of adult learning theories, instructional design models, and learning modalities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and project management skills.
- Ability to manage large-scale, enterprise-level training projects and cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Continuous improvement mindset with a commitment to professional growth and skill development.
- Experience mentoring instructional designers and providing guidance on best practices is a plus.
