This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Manager, Data Engineering in the United States.
In this role, you will lead and scale a high-performing data engineering organization responsible for building modern, scalable data platforms that support enterprise analytics, product insights, and operational intelligence. You will partner with cross-functional teams to define data strategy, implement robust pipelines, and deliver actionable insights to drive business decisions. This position combines hands-on technical leadership with people management, overseeing data infrastructure, governance, and analytics initiatives. Your work will enable self-service analytics, enhance data accessibility, and optimize cloud-based data systems, contributing directly to the company’s growth and innovation. The role offers a collaborative, remote-friendly environment with opportunities to influence strategic initiatives across multiple teams.
Accountabilities:
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of data engineers, fostering technical excellence, innovation, and career growth.
- Define and execute the long-term technical strategy for the data platform, aligning with business objectives and product roadmaps.
- Architect scalable, reliable, and secure data infrastructure leveraging cloud platforms (AWS) and modern data stack tools (Snowflake, Airflow, DBT).
- Implement robust ETL/ELT pipelines, data transformation frameworks, and self-service analytics capabilities using BI tools (e.g., Sigma).
- Drive data governance, quality, and compliance initiatives to meet enterprise and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Finance teams to deliver actionable analytics and customer-facing insights.
- Optimize cloud costs, monitor system performance, and establish incident response and operational excellence practices for data infrastructure.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering, including 4+ years in technical leadership roles managing teams of 5+ engineers.
- Proven experience building and scaling data engineering organizations in high-growth technology environments.
- Hands-on expertise with Snowflake, Airflow, DBT, AWS cloud services, and modern data stack architecture.
- Proficiency in programming languages for data engineering (Python, SQL, Scala).
- Strong knowledge of SaaS business models, product analytics, and customer lifecycle metrics.
- Experience with self-service analytics platforms, dashboards, and enterprise reporting.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations, security frameworks, and enterprise compliance requirements.
