We are currently looking for a Software Engineer - Business Systems (Billing & Invoicing) in EMEA.
This role offers the opportunity to directly shape and enhance critical business systems that support billing and invoicing processes. You will work on end-to-end development projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams including finance, product, and operations, to optimize workflows and integrate solutions with other business platforms. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, a keen understanding of complex business processes, and the ability to translate operational challenges into technical solutions. You’ll have the chance to influence system architecture, implement new features, and ensure the reliability and scalability of key financial systems. This is a highly collaborative, remote-friendly role in a dynamic environment where continuous learning, mentorship, and technical ownership are encouraged.
Accountabilities:
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of billing and invoicing systems from proposal through deployment and ongoing support.
- Collaborate with finance, operations, and product teams to understand business needs and propose technical solutions to optimize workflows.
- Review code and provide mentorship to junior engineers to ensure high-quality, maintainable software.
- Improve codebase health and manage technical debt through structured refactoring and housekeeping practices.
- Contribute to system integrations with other business platforms and ensure seamless interoperability.
- Provide technical guidance and strategic input on the development and enhancement of business systems.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional software development experience.
- Experience as a Full Stack engineer or strong Backend engineer with a desire to expand into Full Stack development.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Go and Python; experience with additional languages is a plus.
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and architectural best practices.
- Experience with Git/GitHub and collaborative software development workflows.
- Ability to engage with non-technical stakeholders and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and adaptable to a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Interest in optimizing business processes and finding creative solutions to operational challenges.
- Bonus: Experience with business systems like Oracle NetSuite, Salesforce, DealHub, Workato, Fivetran, and cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure).
