Senior Fullstack (NodeJS-Typescript) Engineer (Latam)

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Fullstack (NodeJS-Typescript) Engineer in Latin America.

We are seeking a highly skilled Fullstack Engineer to drive the development of scalable, secure, and event-driven backend systems for next-generation financial infrastructure. In this role, you will design and implement core services for real-time payments, wires, and ACH processing, ensuring high availability, compliance, and operational excellence. You will collaborate with a diverse, remote-first team to build microservices and serverless solutions while leveraging modern cloud technologies. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence architecture, apply functional programming principles, and contribute to critical, production-grade financial systems.

Accountabilities

• Architect and develop backend services for financial workflows using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Design domain-driven APIs and workflows implementing event sourcing and eventual consistency.
• Apply the SAGA pattern to coordinate distributed transactions and maintain data integrity.
• Build and maintain serverless components using Azure Functions and Logic Apps for asynchronous processing.
• Ensure reliability, observability, and automated testing across all services.
• Collaborate with platform engineering teams on CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and runtime standards.
• Contribute to technical design, code reviews, and operational excellence in a regulated environment.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience building backend services with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Strong functional programming skills; familiarity with libraries like effect-ts is a plus.
• Deep understanding of event-driven architectures, event sourcing, and distributed consistency models.
• Experience designing and deploying microservices in regulated or financial environments.
• Proficiency with Azure services (Cosmos DB, Event Hubs, Azure Functions).
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions) and strong automated testing practices.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Located in Argentina or Colombia.
• Bonus: experience with SAGA orchestration, banking compliance, payments domain (FedNow, SWIFT, NACHA, ISO 20022), Kubernetes, or AI-assisted development tools.
