We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend systems in a fully remote environment. You will have end-to-end ownership of APIs and backend services, collaborating closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver robust solutions. This role offers the chance to influence architecture, mentor junior engineers, and optimize system performance while working on impactful, customer-facing products. Ideal candidates are experienced with NodeJS and TypeScript, understand modern system design principles, and thrive in a fast-paced, product-driven environment. Accountabilities:

• Architect, build, and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using NodeJS and TypeScript.
• Ensure high code quality, performance, and system reliability through best practices.
• Mentor junior engineers and conduct code reviews to uphold engineering standards.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to clarify requirements and deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Optimize database queries, caching strategies, and backend workflows for performance and scalability.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements.
• Take ownership of backend architecture and continuously improve maintainability and reliability.

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of backend engineering experience, ideally in a product-based company.
• Strong hands-on experience with NodeJS and TypeScript.
• Expertise in Express.js and PostgreSQL; strong SQL skills and query optimization.
• Solid understanding of system design principles for scalable, reliable systems.
• Experience with caching tools such as Redis or Memcached.
• Proven ability to design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs.
• Exposure to cloud infrastructure (AWS services like EC2, ECS, S3, Lambda, SQS) is a plus.
• Strong collaboration, communication skills, and ownership mindset.
• Passion for writing clean, maintainable, and well-structured code.
