This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage and streamline the release process for mobile and browser extension applications in a fast-paced, innovative environment. You will ensure consistent, high-quality builds while collaborating closely with engineering, QA, and product teams. The position emphasizes improving CI/CD pipelines, automating workflows, and coordinating releases across platforms. You will help maintain versioning, signing, and deployment processes while integrating feature flags and testing frameworks. Accountabilities:
- Support engineering teams with day-to-day release activities, including cherry-pick reviews, build validations, and release coordination.
- Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines using tools like Bitrise, GitHub Actions, CircleCI, and GitHub Runners.
- Automate build, test, and release workflows using scripting languages such as Bash, TypeScript, or JavaScript.
- Monitor build health, troubleshoot issues, and proactively resolve blockers to ensure smooth release cycles.
- Ensure proper versioning, tagging, and signing of builds for mobile and browser extension platforms.
- Submit and track releases across App Store, Play Store, and browser extension stores (Chrome, Firefox, Edge).
- Collaborate with QA to integrate unit, UI, and end-to-end tests into release workflows.
- Maintain clear documentation, checklists, and best practices for release processes.
- Coordinate feature flag rollouts in partnership with engineering and product teams.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in release engineering, CI/CD, or build/release coordination.
- Experience supporting cross-functional teams and reviewing/cherry-picking production code branches.
- Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as Bitrise, GitHub Actions, CircleCI, and GitHub Runners.
- Strong scripting skills and familiarity with GH Actions and YML-based systems.
- Solid understanding of Git workflows (trunk-based, Git Flow) and semantic versioning.
- Excellent communication skills to support fast-moving teams effectively.
- Experience with feature flag systems (e.g., LaunchDarkly) is a plus.
- Knowledge of mobile and browser extension releases, crash monitoring, staged rollouts, and store compliance processes.
- Familiarity with iOS builds (Fastlane, Xcode, TestFlight), Android builds (Gradle, Play Console), and browser extensions (Manifest v2/v3, WebExtension APIs).
- Experience contributing to release tools, automation frameworks, or documentation in open source or previous roles is advantageous.
