This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Software Systems Engineer in Maryland (USA).

In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and optimization of critical software systems that support high-impact operations. You will work across the full development lifecycle, shaping technical solutions from concept to production while ensuring reliability, performance, and scalability. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, participate in Agile workflows, and apply best engineering practices to drive continuous improvement. This position offers the opportunity to apply deep .Net expertise, influence architectural decisions, and help deliver secure, modern applications. It is ideal for an engineer who thrives in complex environments and enjoys both hands-on development and broader system-level problem solving.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead technical planning, requirements definition, test planning, execution, and integration across software systems and subsystems.
  • Deliver full-stack .Net development using C#, implement unit testing, support CI/CD pipelines, and ensure high performance and responsiveness.
  • Support deployed solutions in production and contribute long-term reusable components within an Agile methodology.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to refine requirements and promote strong engineering practices such as modularization, simplification, and test automation.
  • Create and maintain documentation including design diagrams, workflows, and module descriptions.
  • Work daily with IDE and DevOps tools including Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, and Git, while contributing actively to stand-ups and team collaboration.

Requirements

  • Strong expertise in .Net framework, .Net Core, C#, MVC architecture, OOP, design patterns, RESTful APIs, and API integrations.
  • Proficiency in SQL Server, Entity Framework, database design, and cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
  • Experience with Git, TFS/TFVC, CI/CD tools (CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy), and unit testing frameworks such as NUnit, xUnit, or MSTest.
  • Skilled in using Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code, with strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, mentor junior developers, perform code reviews, and maintain high-quality standards.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, IaC, web application security, performance optimization, and third-party SDKs.
  • Minimum of five years of professional experience with .Net technologies and a track record of contributing to complex, enterprise-level software projects.
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or related discipline, meeting required experience thresholds.
  • U.S. Citizenship required and ability to obtain or hold a Public Trust (MBI) clearance.
  • Desired: Experience with X.12 medical claims (837, 834, 277), EDI, microservices, Kubernetes, ECS, or EKS.
