This internship provides an exciting opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in software development within a fast-paced, collaborative, and Agile IT environment. Interns will work on real-world projects, contributing to the development, enhancement, and maintenance of software solutions that support key business systems. You will learn from experienced developers, engage in coding, testing, and documentation, and gain exposure to the full software development lifecycle. Accountabilities
- Analyze, clarify, and document software requirements and functional specifications.
- Develop and maintain software using Java and related technologies in accordance with project specifications.
- Validate and test software to ensure compliance with functional and technical requirements.
- Create, update, and maintain development documentation.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with IT team members on project progress and challenges.
- Follow established IT department processes and procedures.
- Support additional tasks and projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled sophomore, junior, or senior at an undergraduate college or university, majoring in Computer Science, MIS, or a Math major with technical coursework. (May 2026 graduates not eligible.)
- Exposure to Java is required; familiarity with SQL queries and Object-Oriented Programming concepts is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a desire to learn and grow in a professional software development environment.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills for collaboration within a professional IT team.
- Ability to work on-site in West Des Moines, IA, for the full internship duration.
