This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Principal DevOps Engineer in California (USA).
In this role, you will lead the design, deployment, and management of a next-generation cloud infrastructure, driving scalability, reliability, and automation across all environments. You will own the CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and cloud architecture, shaping the technical foundation of the platform while collaborating closely with engineering teams. This hands-on position allows you to implement best practices, optimize performance, and influence strategic decisions in a fast-paced, innovative environment. You will also help define standards, security policies, and observability practices that ensure operational excellence across the stack.
Accountabilities
- Lead architectural vision for cloud infrastructure and scalable systems.
- Design, implement, and manage end-to-end CI/CD workflows to streamline deployments across Development, QA, Stage, and Production.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform and Ansible to automate provisioning and management.
- Ensure platform reliability, monitoring performance, availability, and durability of services.
- Recommend and implement architectural improvements, security policies, and operational best practices.
- Collaborate closely with development and operations teams to integrate new tools, methodologies, and enhancements.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on DevOps experience, focusing on automation, tooling, and scalable distributed systems.
- Strong expertise in AWS, including VPC, EKS, EC2, IAM, S3, and related services.
- Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker, etc.).
- Skilled in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
- Proficient with GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, and continuous integration tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD.
- Experience with monitoring and observability frameworks; familiarity with Grafana, Prometheus, or Elasticsearch is a plus.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash or Groovy is desirable.
- Familiarity with artifact management (e.g., Nexus, ECR) and code validation/linting tools (e.g., Sonar) is advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work independently, and excellent collaboration and communication abilities.
- Must reside in PST or MST time zones and have unrestricted work authorization in the United States.
