Accountabilities
- Write, update, and maintain software packages to support key business operations such as data collection, reporting, and administration.
- Design, develop, and maintain secure, high-performance applications across multiple platforms.
- Build and manage software releases, including deployment to development and production environments.
- Collaborate with remote teams and internal clients to clarify requirements, refine programs, test modifications, and provide post-deployment support.
- Participate in full stack development, with a focus on middle-tier and service-oriented architecture.
- Serve as a technical leader, providing guidance on application security, architecture, and best practices.
- Plan, architect, and design solutions that align with long-term technology goals.
- Continuously enhance skills through on-the-job training, seminars, webinars, and self-directed learning.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related field.
- 5+ years of experience in IT and software development for Senior Software Developer level; 7–10 years for Senior Software Engineer with software engineering/architect experience.
- Proficiency in Java; familiarity with Agile development practices.
- Knowledge of modern web technologies and frameworks (Angular, JSP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON) preferred.
- Experience with SOAP/REST web services and web security protocols (OWASP guidelines preferred).
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for remote and cross-functional teamwork.
- Ability to work outside normal business hours for project deadlines, release schedules, or on-call support.
- Leadership experience and insurance/financial services knowledge are a plus.
