This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the development and sustainment of critical applications supporting mission operations in a dynamic environment. The Application Developer will work closely with technical teams, analysts, and designers to design, implement, and maintain software solutions that meet evolving business needs. The position requires a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, secure coding practices, and collaboration within Agile/Scrum frameworks. You will have the chance to create reusable tools, enhance system efficiency, and ensure high-quality deliverables. The role is fully remote, with flexibility to engage in cross-functional team activities and support modernization efforts. It is ideal for developers who enjoy solving complex problems while ensuring robust and secure software solutions.
Accountabilities:
- Design, code, test, debug, and document software applications according to technical specifications and business requirements.
- Participate in the development of reusable software tools and subsystems to improve efficiency and support domain analysis.
- Collaborate with analysts and designers to translate user requirements into detailed program specifications.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, standard operating procedures, and technical guides for users and support staff.
- Conduct application testing, troubleshoot issues, and prepare reports on system performance and maintenance.
- Apply secure development practices and adhere to DevSecOps principles throughout the software lifecycle.
- Engage in Agile/Scrum team activities and provide technical expertise during sustainment and modernization efforts.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software development, including the full software development lifecycle.
- Proficiency in Microsoft .NET, SQL Server, C#, Java, and other relevant programming languages.
- Knowledge of application design, testing, documentation standards, and secure coding practices (STIG, OWASP).
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and collaborative development environments.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Eligible for NACLC and IT-II security clearance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Desired: Security+ CE or relevant computing environment certifications; experience in DoD projects.
