This role offers the opportunity to lead a highly skilled engineering team responsible for developing and maintaining a macOS endpoint agent. You will manage globally distributed engineers, oversee system and kernel-level development, and drive improvements in agent architecture and performance. The position combines hands-on technical leadership with team management, responding to emerging issues and ensuring high-quality releases. You will collaborate closely with support, QA, and other stakeholders to address customer needs and optimize core technology. This is an ideal role for an experienced software engineering manager with a strong technical foundation, excellent communication skills, and a passion for building resilient, high-performance systems.
Accountabilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of system and kernel developers, ensuring world-class technical execution and career growth.
- Oversee design and development of the macOS endpoint agent, addressing performance, reliability, and security requirements.
- Manage responses to field incidents, including root cause analysis, patch delivery, and coordinated issue resolution.
- Drive architectural improvements and proactively identify areas for system optimization based on team findings.
- Collaborate with support, QA, and sales teams to ensure timely issue resolution and high-quality releases.
- Foster a collaborative, innovative, and high-performance engineering culture.
Requirements
- 4+ years of software engineering management experience.
- 6+ years of systems and kernel development experience, with strong understanding of operating system fundamentals.
- Proven track record of delivering core, customer-facing software features.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Experience in macOS development (user/kernel space), high-performance systems, or large-scale event processing systems is a plus.
- Familiarity with Objective-C and Swift programming is advantageous.
- Experience managing customer escalations or cross-functional incident responses is a plus.
