Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our team. You will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software solutions through robust automation, exploratory testing, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams. This is an opportunity to impact product quality at all stages, drive continuous testing practices, and coach others on best-in-class automation approaches.
Responsibilities
Review requirement specifications and user stories, providing timely and meaningful feedback to stakeholders.
Design, develop, and execute automation scripts as well as test automation frameworks, using tools such as Cypress, Playwright, Rest Assured, and others.
Integrate automation scripts within CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins), guiding the team toward effective continuous testing practices.
Identify, document, and track issues throughout development and release cycles.
Collaborate with software/test engineers and product managers to understand key objectives, ensuring that testing solutions meet business needs.
Lead and participate in exploratory testing and test design sessions to continuously improve product quality.
Acquire and apply deep domain understanding to achieve holistic and comprehensive test coverage.
Utilize a critical mindset to discern strategic areas for automation, balancing risk, cost, and value to maximize impact.
Coach and mentor developers and other SDETs on effective testing strategies and automation methods.
Work with containerization tools, Kubernetes (K8s), and Helm charts as part of the testing ecosystem.
Requirements
Minimum 8 years of experience in Test Automation.
Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools (such as JIRA or similar), and processes.
Proficiency in Java and/or TypeScript with hands-on experience using automated testing frameworks (Cypress, Playwright, Rest Assured, etc.).
Experience with DevOps practices and tools such as Gradle, Jenkins, and Docker.
Experience with building and maintaining test automation frameworks and supporting continuous integration/delivery environments.
Prior experience with Kubernetes and Helm charts.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills; comfortable working in Agile/Scrum teams.
Ability to identify and address flaws in testing processes, toolsets, and infrastructure, with the drive to implement improvements.
Well-organized, proactive, and innovative; able to think independently and critically about software quality and risk.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related working experience is required.
Must have legal work authorization to work in Poland.
