We are partnering with an industry-leading SaaS provider to find a talented Software Performance Test Engineer for their Performance Engineering team. In this role, you will ensure the quality of the performance, scalability, and reliability of their software applications. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, design and execute performance tests, identify bottlenecks, and recommend optimizations to enhance user experience.

Location: Hybrid (on-site at least two days per week in Prague, Czech Republic)

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute comprehensive performance test strategies and plans across the software and hardware stack, aligned with business and scalability objectives.

  • Conduct end-to-end performance, load, stress, and scalability testing for core platform features and services.

  • Develop and maintain performance test scripts using industry-standard tools and frameworks such as LoadRunner, JMeter, Artillery, K6, and Gatling.

  • Integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines utilizing tools like GitHub Actions and Jenkins.

  • Use monitoring and observability tools (Grafana, Datadog) to analyze test results, identify system bottlenecks, and collaborate with engineering teams for resolution.

  • Set up and manage test environments, leveraging cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Apply a scientific, data-driven approach to systematically break down complex performance issues into actionable insights.

  • Work with system architects and infrastructure teams to optimize software and hardware configurations.

  • Provide regular reports and detailed performance metrics to stakeholders, highlighting key findings and recommendations.

  • Stay current with the latest trends in design patterns, coding practices, and test automation, proactively incorporating new approaches to enhance product effectiveness.

  • Maintain clear, effective communication (verbal, technical, and written) with engineering, product, and architecture teams.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in software performance testing, ideally within a SaaS or enterprise software environment.

  • Strong understanding of performance testing methodologies and best practices.

  • Proficiency with performance testing tools (e.g., LoadRunner, JMeter) and programming/scripting languages (Java, Python).

  • Proven experience with web technologies (HTTP, REST APIs) and APM tools such as Datadog or Grafana.

  • Practical knowledge of DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines, with hands-on use of GitHub Actions or Jenkins.

  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot performance issues.

  • Excellent communication skills, with a collaborative approach to problem solving.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Work authorization for Prague, Czech Republic is required.
