The journey of Insight Service Group (ISG) began not as the multifaceted service provider it is today, but from a focused vision to address a specific need within the insurance industry. In 1990, founder Bob Reardon established an independent medical evaluation (IME) company, dedicated to providing insurance carriers with prompt, objective, and high-quality medical reviews. By creating a robust network of qualified providers and holding them to rigorous standards, the company carved out a niche for itself, growing from a regional specialist in the Northeastern United States to a national IME provider within five years. As the IME business flourished, Reardon identified another critical area where insurers required support. He partnered with his brother, Patrick, to launch an investigations business. What started with a single investigator quickly scaled, expanding its reach to offer comprehensive regional and eventually national investigation services.

Recognizing the powerful synergies between medical evaluations and investigations, the Reardon brothers made the pivotal decision to merge their operations under a single brand: ISG. This integration marked a new era for the company, creating a unified powerhouse that could offer a more holistic approach to claims management. The evolution didn't stop there. Beginning in 2019, ISG embarked on a strategic growth phase fueled by acquisitions. Over the next several years, the company acquired seven other businesses, significantly broadening its service portfolio to include records management, clinical services, and medical nurse case management. Today, ISG stands as a national market leader, providing an integrated suite of claim and litigation support services. It leverages proprietary, in-house developed technology, including its innovative Socrates.AI platform, to drive efficiency and deliver superior outcomes for its clients, which include 42 of the top 50 U.S. insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and leading law firms.
