Summary
As a Front End Developer at IOG, you play a key role in ensuring delivery of IOG’s web assets - a key means by which the public interact with our products and the efforts of the business as a whole.
Beyond just being an efficient way of accessing information, we want our sites to represent the best in class for their design and build – a reflection of the products we create. You’ll be joining a strong team operating on a Jamstack set-up consisting of Next and Sanity CMS. You should be well versed in these technologies as well as JavaScript, Node JS, React.
Duties
- Build reusable, well commented code and libraries for future use
- Optimize code for maximum speed and scalability
- Contributing to process, tooling and workflow improvements
- High quality standards and a focus on accuracy towards the design vision
- Work with marketing, design & content teams as well as product management to realise and improve upon vision for a project as it is deployed public
- Working with QA function to ensure builds are compliant with agreed test cases & standards
- Implementation of site builds in accordance with current IOHK technical stack (Next).
- Implementation of project deliverables to agreed upon deadlines.
- Collaboration with the rest of the Web Development team to share best practices & assist with project delivery.
- Maintenance of deployed assets post launch.

Requirements
Key Competencies
- Expert level understanding of Javascript
- Expert level understand of React and passion for the React ecosystem
- Strong knowledge of JS ecosystem, such as NPM, Node JS, and Jamstack
- Expert skills in HTML / CSS / LESS / SASS
- Experience with Tailwind CSS
- Experience with Next.js and headless CMS driven static site generation
- Well versed with Git workflows
- Proficient in cross-browser and cross-device compatibility and how to build responsive, mobile first layouts.
- Good understanding of SEO principles
- Unafraid of working to deadlines and handling change
- Great communication skills
- A level head in pressured situations
- A keenness to learn and share your knowledge with the team
- Working with UX/Design teams as well as good understanding of design principles
- Basic knowledge of image and design editing tools e.g. Figma.
- Independent thinker and proactive problem solver.
Education / Experience
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment where you regularly ship public facing web assets
- Experience and demonstrable examples of working with visually refined modern marketing websites
