Description

Our client, a public sector organization headquartered in Winnipeg, Manitoba, is seeking a Senior Security Analyst for a 1-year contract employment opportunity. The successful Senior Security Analyst candidate will have experience in the retail and entertainment sectors, 7+ years’ experience in Cyber Security, in addition to a CISSP (and/or CISA, CISM, SANS GIAC) certification.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and operations of security controls and monitoring services.
• Develop security policies, technical standards, guidelines, and procedures.
• Conduct security risk and vulnerability assessments.
• Perform technical security assessments and design reviews.
• Develop and maintain technical solutions to help mitigate security vulnerabilities.
• Support the activities that provide security monitoring and incident response services.
• Perform technical forensic investigations.
• Generate forensic and incident reports.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience and Skills

• Completion of a recognized degree or diploma program in a related IT discipline or equivalent combination of experience, education and certification.
• CISSP, CISM or SysAdmin, Audit, Networks, Security (SANS) professional Certification (GIAC) Certification as Certified Information Security Manager or Certified Information Security Auditor (CISA).
• Minimum 3 years information infrastructure experience and 7 years direct experience specializing in Cyber Security.
• Knowledge and direct experience with several technology areas such as networking, VPSs, firewalls, SIEM, cloud platforms/cloud security, vulnerability management, virtualization, Microsoft technologies (Endpoints, Servers, M365, Azure), endpoint security, scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, PHP, others) is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with technical and business acumen.
• Strong analytical and organization skills.
• Knowledge and experience within retail and entertainment sectors considered an asset.
• Knowledge and experience with the Payment Card industry related standards and guides are considered an asset.
• Must have Windows based computer with standard Windows 10 applications.
• Must possess own communication device.
• Must be eligible to work in Canada.
