The Director, Risk Adjustment Strategy Advancement will provide business intelligence and strategic planning support for business segments and the company at large. The Director, Risk Adjustment Strategy Advancement requires an in-depth understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across the function or segment.

The risk adjustment strategy and operations team is looking for a seasoned leader to lead strategic planning and business management for the team. The primary objective of this leader is to ensure that the risk adjustment organization can effectively balance competing priorities and will drive substantial progress against both short- and long-term strategic goals. This leader will also be responsible for leading strategic ad-hoc teams and projects that require enterprise activation and collaboration

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic annual planning support – Collaborate with senior team members to determine and prioritize business strategies. Coordinate with leadership to complete vision / mission / goals and articulate of strategic priorities. Shape the team’s vision, principles, and other far-reaching strategy documents. Coordinate dependencies and other inter-related efforts across teams (especially when priorities conflict), and facilitating work by ensuring teams have the resources they need.
  • Establish Operating Rhythm & Foster Innovation - Establish, document, and mature repeatable processes for critical business functions that occur on a regular cadence like budget planning, strategic planning, headcount planning. Plan and execution tempo of financial and operational support forums, including frequent updates to the newly established transformation office. Design and deploy processes that foster ideation and innovation across the enterprise.
  • Internal and executive communications - Compile regular updates on business activities to generate cross-team awareness. Plan team huddles, leadership team meetings, and other cross-team events. Establish, shaping, debugging, and socializing, organizational culture, values, and behavioral expectations. Partner with associate experience, change management, communication, and other teams to leverage their expertise as appropriate.
  • Leadership effectiveness - Serve as a formal and informal gatekeeper to ensure that the SVP is spending their time on the right things. Help leaders carry out the team’s vision and strategic intent. Prepare meeting agendas, planning team off-sites, establishing communication patterns and cadences, fostering better interpersonal dynamics, etc. Identify opportunity areas and proactively resolve them.
  • Portfolio management – Assisting the SVP and leadership team to help ensure strategic alignment across the diverse set of operational and financial teams. Create structure to assist in properly prioritizing initiatives/projects that align with strategic objectives, identify tradeoffs and making recommendations to leadership on selection to ensure the business is working on the right things.
  • Monitoring and evaluating organizational progress – Work with team leadership to define, align and track success metrics. Identify gaps and make recommendations for improvement. Establish, operate, and improve the systems that capture, track, and regularly report on work in flight, especially strategic or other cross-functional initiatives, to ensure situational awareness at all levels. Presenting recommendations to mitigate risks and resolves conflicts.
  • Stakeholder management - Preparation assistance with significant meeting forums (Meet Weeks, Management team meetings, Town halls). Builds relationships with key stakeholders around the organization; solicits feedback and outside-in perspective on org performance. Facilitates meetings with senior leaders; brings together key leaders to drive decisions.
  • Risk management – Create awareness for leaders of arising or unanticipated problems or opportunities and supporting the leadership team in resolving issues.
  • Day-to-day leadership support - In addition to strategic and longer-term planning support, assist with day-to-day support in topics such as associate engagement, team huddles and follow-ups, conference planning and support, talent and rotation planning, peer-review organization, town halls and preparing the SVP for speaking engagements.

Requirements

  • 10 or more years of project progressive scope and/or leadership experience with relevant experience, preferably in the healthcare sector
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals
  • Proven experience presenting complex information to executive-level leadership with clarity and confidence
  • Strong business and financial acumen, with a track record of applying insights to drive strategic decisions
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel, with a history of creating impactful presentations and reports
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and navigate ambiguity to deliver successful outcomes
  • Self-starter with a proven ability to work independently and communicate effectively across all organizational levels
  • Demonstrated success in fast-paced, dynamic environments; adaptable, resilient, and comfortable with change

Work-At-Home Requirements

  • WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.
  • A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.
  • Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
  • A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Interview Format

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.$168,000 - $231,000 per yearThis job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
