HomeLight is seeking a Payroll Specialist to support end-to-end payroll operations across multiple entities, maintaining payroll data integrity, supporting audits, and improving payroll efficiency in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Own end-to-end payroll processing for U.S. employees, including wages, taxes, benefits, and garnishments
- Ensure compliance with IRS regulations, FLSA, and state-specific labor laws
- Manage payroll for St. Lucia–based employees, including PAYE, NIC, and statutory deductions
- Manage payments and compliance for international contractors
- Process terminations, final paychecks, incentives, gifts, and off-cycle payroll adjustments
- Track leaves of absence to ensure accurate classification and pay treatment
- Set up and manage employee garnishments and loans
- Maintain employee and organizational data; review and approve employee-initiated changes
- Monitor and respond to payroll-related inquiries
- Perform payroll audits and reconciliations; identify and resolve discrepancies
- Ensure accurate year-end reporting (W-2s, 1099s, and international equivalents)
- Partner with HR and Finance on onboarding, offboarding, and payroll-related matters
- Lead annual 401(k) audits and support payroll-related audits
- Work with payroll systems to automate processes, troubleshoot issues, and support scalable operations
- Monitor payroll tax law changes and review regulatory filings to mitigate compliance risk
- Document and update payroll processes and procedures
