About the Role

Hello Heart is looking for an experienced Associate Director, Compliance & Licensing to join our Compliance team. In this hands-on, high-ownership role, you will manage a broad portfolio of licensing, enrollment, compliance operations, contract compliance, and training work streams across Hello Heart entities.

Reporting into our Vice President, Compliance, you will work closely with internal teams and regulatory agencies to keep compliance processes accurate, organized, and audit-ready. This role is ideal for someone with deep healthcare compliance and licensing experience who thrives on process ownership, moves quickly and independently, and maintains precision across complex regulatory workstreams.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain CMS ACCESS participation, ensuring quarterly reports are accurate, complete, and compliant before submission
  • Monitor enrollment and licensing deadlines across states and entities to ensure no lapses
  • Maintain a centralized database of client and partner contract compliance requirements, including AI restrictions, record retention obligations, offshore data restrictions, and other contractual compliance terms
  • Partner with Implementation to ensure systems and workflows are configured in accordance with contract requirements
  • Flag and escalate contract compliance risks to the Vice President, Compliance as they arise
  • Respond to external audit requests from partners and clients across multiple entities
  • Maintain compliance policies and procedures, including drafting initial policy updates and routing final drafts for review and signature
  • Maintain privacy incident logs and complete required privacy incident reports accurately and on time
  • Field compliance inquiries and review requests from internal stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Business Development, and Client Success
  • Develop and administer compliance training programs for employees and board members
  • Create new training materials as regulations change or new compliance requirements arise
  • Coordinate annual compliance training cycles and ensure timely completion across the organization
  • Support the Vice President, Compliance with regulatory research, compliance oversight on company initiatives, Compliance Committee presentations, and other compliance needs as they arise

Qualifications

  • Experience using AI tools to improve productivity, streamline research, support documentation, and improve repeatable compliance workflows
  • 7+ years of experience in healthcare compliance, regulatory affairs, licensing, or a related field
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with Medicare and Medicaid enrollment and state licensing, with multi-state and multi-entity experience strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with CMS and Medicaid systems, including PECOS and HPMS
  • Experience maintaining compliance policies and procedures and drafting compliance documentation
  • Background developing and delivering compliance training programs
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to maintain systems, track deadlines, and follow through without being reminded
  • Comfortable working independently across multiple workstreams in a fast-moving environment
  • Experience working across multiple corporate entities preferred
  • American Bar Association-approved legal education strongly preferred, including a Juris Doctor, paralegal certificate, or equivalent formal legal or compliance training

We're on a mission to change the way people care for their hearts. At Hello Heart, we empower people to understand and improve their heart health using technology. We developed a clinically-based smartphone solution that, along with our FDA-cleared blood pressure monitor, helps individuals track, understand, and improve their chronic conditions, starting with heart health. Our program is designed to help users build healthy tracking habits and improve their health in real-time with an easy-to-use smartphone application. This empowers users to identify health risks in time and potentially save lives.

We're proud to be the only digital therapeutics company to focus exclusively on heart disease, which is the leading cause of death for men and women in the US. Through our connected mobile app that uses AI, behavioral science, and personalized digital coaching, we drive lifestyle changes and empower people to embrace healthier behaviors. This can reduce the risks of high blood pressure and heart disease. Our system also helps users catch readings that are extremely high, encouraging them to talk to their doctor and catch potential risks in time. We provide a blood pressure monitor and a smartphone application that offers real-time personalized tips for various conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and body weight, enabling users to self-manage hypertension, drive behavior change, and prevent serious health risks. We're also excited about our proprietary smart pill box, the Hello Heart Pill Box, designed to improve medication adherence. This, combined with our intuitive app, turns the challenge of remembering medication into a manageable routine. We believe that by leveraging technology and behavioral science, we're helping people take charge of their health. Validated in peer-reviewed studies, our approach is easy to use and works alongside an employer's benefits ecosystem.
