The idea was born when co-founders Flo and Stefan noticed that many of their friends were still using manual toothbrushes, despite dentists recommending electric alternatives. The primary reasons were the high cost and lack of appeal of the available electric toothbrushes. This observation sparked the mission to create 'OralCare That Really Cares' – a line of products that are not only effective and modern but also affordable and enjoyable to use. Happybrush is dedicated to revolutionizing the oral care industry by offering stylish, high-quality electric toothbrushes, vegan toothpastes, and other oral care products that make people happy.

The journey for happybrush included a significant milestone with an appearance on the German television show 'Die Höhle der Löwen' (the German equivalent of 'Dragon's Den' or 'Shark Tank') on October 24, 2017. This provided a platform to introduce their vision to a wider audience and a panel of experienced investors, ultimately securing a deal that, although the paths later diverged, helped propel the company forward. Beyond just creating great products, happybrush is deeply committed to sustainability and social responsibility. The company is a certified B Corporation and has been climate-neutral since 2019. They actively work to reduce their environmental footprint by using sustainable materials, such as recycled plastic for their toothbrush housings and renewable resources for their brush heads. Through their #BrushForWater initiative, a portion of their proceeds is donated to provide clean drinking water to people in need. This commitment to making a positive impact is at the core of the happybrush brand, ensuring that customers are not only taking care of their own oral health but also contributing to a better world.
