Philippines Content Associate

What You'll Do

• Build a full library of Cebuano and Filipino language content: Reporting to the Philippines Growth Lead, you will continue to build out a full version of Hallow in Cebuano and other Filipino languages, providing high-quality content for one of the most engaged Hallow communities in the world!
• Acquire, translate, and write prayers: This role requires the ability to research prayers and traditions of piety from around the world to ensure proper representation, accurately translate prayers from English, and write original prayers in Cebuano and possibly other Filipino languages. A background in theology and writing are both essential.
• Work with guest contributors: You will reach out to a variety of speakers, authors, theologians, religious, etc. to gather guest content such as prayer sessions and Bible Stories. At times, you may need to attend live recordings (whether in person or online). You must be comfortable reaching out to new people and should enjoy working with a variety of folks.
• Be an integral part of the Content Team: As part of the Content Team, you’ll be asked to help out with various aspects of content, sometimes outside of Cebuano and Filipino, such as helping conduct QA (Quality Assurance) on sessions before they go on the app. Willingness to jump in and having a strong attention to detail is a must.
• Work with the Growth and Product Teams: At times, you’ll work with the Growth team and provide input on ads, messaging, and emails, or you’ll be responsible for running community outreach efforts in the Philippines. Being part of a startup means working across a lot of different areas!

What We're Looking For

• Passion: First & foremost, we’re looking for someone excited about our mission. It makes it a lot more fun :)
• Bilingual: You are a native speaker of Cebuano and a fluent speaker of English Familiarity or fluency in other Filipino languages is a plus.
• Experience: 2+ years of experience building out high-quality theological content. Bonus points if you’ve worked in a startup environment or at a content company before!
• Communication: You’re an expert communicator and conversationalist. Being able to communicate, negotiate, and build relationships is a must in both English and Cebuano is important in this role. Experience building relationships with influencers, content creators, and people within the Catholic Church in the region is a huge plus.
• Grit & detail-oriented: We really care about what we’re doing & try to build as fast as we can. Since we’re guiding meditation and competing with some large players in the market (Calm, Headspace), we have to stand out. Everything we do, say, send, or spend money on should be top-notch quality and set Hallow apart as the best.

• Ownership: You’ll play a central role in crafting and executing strategy for our entire Philippines market. This will be a part-time role for at least the remainder of 2024.
• Growth: You’ll be a part of the startup journey from the beginning. Over the next couple of years we plan to expand the company significantly and we’ll need your help to set the tone for how we will expand the app across the Philippines.
• Flexibility: Hallow HQ is in Chicago but we want someone who is based in the Philippines, with a preference for Cebu. We want our Content Associate to be close to the people we are reaching! However, this role will also require some early morning or late night work in order to maximize overlap with the U.S. Central Time Zone.
