H2 Performance Consulting (H2) is seeking an experienced Senior Network Automation Engineer to lead our initiatives, ensuring the highest level of network reliability, security, and performance. The Senior Automation and Network Management Engineer will play a pivotal role in the configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of network systems using programming and coding expertise with automation platforms. This role requires a deep understanding of modern networking technologies, extensive experience in network automation, and a proactive approach to solving complex networking challenges. Lead the design and operation of an Enterprise network automation solution.

The Senior Network Automation Engineer responsibilities will include:

  • Configure and manage network automation tools to streamline network operations and integration.
  • Familiarization with network orchestration, automation, and management tools desired (Ansible, Nautobot, Netscout, Cisco Catalyst Center, NSO, Arista Cloud Vision, CI/CD pipelines, etc.)
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex network automation issues, providing expert-level troubleshooting and resolution.
  • Continuously monitor and optimize the network automation solution's performance, capacity, and scalability.
  • Maintain detailed network documentation, network diagrams, and network configuration. Lead the design and operation of an Enterprise network automation solution.
  • Configure and manage network automation tools to streamline network operations and integration.
  • Familiarization with automation tools desired (Cisco DNAC/ISE, Arista Cloud Vision, etc.)
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex network automation issues, providing expert-level troubleshooting and resolution.
  • Continuously monitor and optimize the network automation solution's performance, capacity, and scalability.
  • Maintain detailed network documentation, network diagrams, and network configuration.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering their growth and development.
  • Collaborate with vendors to evaluate and select networking equipment and technologies that align with customer objectives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have an active DoD SECRET clearance
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience as a network engineer, with a strong emphasis on network automation.
  • Expert-level knowledge of routing and switching protocols.
  • In-depth understanding of network security principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting enterprise-grade networking equipment using programming languages and automation tools like Python, APIs, Ansible, Batfish, Netbox, NETCONF, RESTCONF, YAML, etc.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Must have a DoD 8570.01-M, IAT level III certification.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Cisco CCNP or CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure or DevNet preferred.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
