Job Summary:
This Technical Implementation Consultant role lives within the customer engagement arm of the Granicus’ Digital Services Implementation Team and is a key member of the Implementation Services (IS) team. This team helps customers (government agencies) create valued online services, and partners with customer to enhance the way that government organizations support their communities through strategic experience management.
As a Technical Implementation Consultant, you will be an expert on the AMANDA platform, and a key partner in the successful rollout of projects across North America. You are a customer focused leader who works hand-in-hand with the project management team to implement products and solutions that require a higher level of technical knowledge (i.e. Web Services, internal and external APIs, SMS products and additional product integrations) for new and existing clients. Expert technical knowledge and enthusiasm for client success are cornerstones of this role.

What Your Impact Will Look Like Here

  • Master the AMANDA platform – you will be the internal expert on the implementation of the product.
  • Serve as an advisor to the customer as they improve their online processes.
  • Define features, phases, and solution requirements for customer implementations.
  • Provide specifications according to which the solution is defined, managed, and delivered.
  • Advocate and evangelize “best practice” approaches to client set ups to ensure long term success and value for Granicus clients.
  • Ensure implementations meet client specific missions and solve core challenges around effective, efficient and engaging communications.
  • In partnership with the assigned Project Manager, lead and manage multiple Granicus technical product implementations and solutions on schedule and with high quality.
  • Clarify and drive implementation commitments.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering and other technical stakeholders on delivery of key solutions for the customer.
  • Develop training and implementation documentation for customized implementations.
  • Conduct system training for client administrators and developers, when applicable.
  • Work closely with Process Designers (internal “builders”) and Project Managers that interface with customers alongside you - to advise on progress and share ideas.
  • Ensure acceptance criteria are clearly defined and verify it matches the requirements.
  • Stay up to date on the latest process, IT advancements, and programming languages to automate and modernize systems.
  • Effectively communicate your insights and plans to cross-functional team members.
  • Prioritize initiatives based on business needs and requirements.
  • Serve as a liaison between stakeholders and users.
  • Assess the needs of each client; recommend and document solutions.
  • Collaborate with product engineering on validating designs and producing technical requirements for product enhancements when necessary.

You will love this job if you have

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience in development.
  • Have high level technical literacy and familiarity with a broad scope of technologies used to build web applications, which helps determine how a software solution fits into an organization’s current structure and assists in the development of specifications and requirements.
  • 5+ years of experience with APIs, PostGreSQL, MySQL, JSON, XML, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
  • 5+ years of experience with Python.
  • 2-5 years of experience with React.
  • Have ability to analyze a process, and easily see the “if/then” in the logic.
  • Have ability to build online forms and/or workflow strongly preferred. You know which fields need to be displayed on a form, and which questions are context sensitive (e.g. children dates of birth to be requested only where number of children is greater than zero).
  • Demonstrate and ensure timely and thorough communication of strategy, deliverable status, and results.
  • Have ability to flex between the technical and business sides of your brain – engineers and cross-functional team members alike love to work with you.
  • Have ability to work with multiple cross-functional teams to build and evaluate business cases to support product investment decisions.
  • Have strong history of successfully facilitating technical implementations on time.
  • A problem-solver who can quickly change direction / update proposed solutions based on updated client specifications or system limitations.
  • Have a relentless commitment to prioritizing the most valuable work first.
  • Have excellent communications skills – listening, verbal, and written.
  • Can work both independently and as a member of cross-functional teams.
  • You have a track record of functioning well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing demands.
  • Value the importance of user experience.
  • Have a passion for customers.
  • Are bilingual (English and French) – preferred.
  • Have served as a developer for high-touch clients.
  • Have previous experience with the AMANDA product.
