Job Summary

The Manager, Construction and Facilities supports the corporate mission of providing the public access to health care by coordinating the real estate, design, construction and maintenance of our centers as we rapidly grow. This position requires a person to take ownership of the process, drive our external vendors to completion and lead a team of Construction and Facilities Coordinators. The Manager, Construction and Facilities will manage department personnel, staffing requirements, planning, and maintenance. Responsibilities include reviewing department practices and protocols, effecting change as needed, and proactively managing renovation and/or building projects as needed. The position will be relied on to ensure that requirements are met as required by local and national regulatory bodies. This position will closely manage the relationships with our internal and external partners.

The role will support the Sr. Manager, Construction and Facilities in the build-out and opening of new urgent care centers(s), as well as any acquired sites, and redevelopment projects, including the design, scheduling, budgeting and maintenance toward keeping our centers, a “Class A” facility. Additionally, the Manager, Construction & Facilities will provide leadership and guidance to the coordinators, ensuring effective teamwork and project completion.

Job Requirements

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Some college or Bachelor’s degree preferred

Work Experience

  • 5+ years of facility support or construction experience required
  • 2+ years of people leadership experience

Required Licenses/Certifications

  • State Drivers’ License required
  • Technical Certification preferred
  • OSHA certification

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

Leadership and Management

  • Knowledge of leadership principles, methods and ability to lead a team of Facilities and Construction coordinators.
  • Ability to focus on results and holding others accountable for goal attainment.
  • Understands basic coaching methods and ability to provide targeted feedback to Team Members.
  • Ability to cascade vision of the team from department leadership, while building commitment to the mission and goals of the company.
  • In collaboration with Sr. Manager, ability to manage performance of team, setting clear performance expectations while recognizing and rewarding

General Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Able to rely on experience and judgment to perform a variety of tasks, and plan and accomplish goals.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to maintain high energy and self-motivation.
  • Knowledge of problem-solving approaches and methods while cultivating alternative viewpoints.

Department/Function Specific:

  • General knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, utilities.
  • Understanding of facility management software and tools, or any new technology implemented.
  • Understanding of crisis management. Ability to identify hazards and respond effectively.
  • Knowledge of sustainability methods and environmental impact, promoting energy efficiency and managing waste disposal.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Manages team of assigned facility coordinators.
  • Work directly with and provide superior customer service to the leadership, center managers, operations staff, providers and center team members toward keeping our centers a “Class A” facility.
  • Provide weekly updates to leadership on the progress of construction and facility related projects.
  • Visit new and acquired real estate sites to determine if they will accommodate our typical center design
  • Manage construction and maintenance schedules for projects from lease execution to opening
  • Manage capitol expenses and cost controls for facility maintenance and construction budgets
  • Facilitate communication between our operations team of ongoing maintenance issues.
  • Provide weekly updates to leadership on the progress of center repairs and capitol projects.
  • Manage and evaluate numerous vendors to provide services and/or supplies for the Centers.
  • All other duties as assigned.
