ABOUT THE ROLE
Within the Custom Tour team, the Custom Tour Group Travel Specialist manages custom tour reservations by taking calls from assigned accounts, resolving problems, and influencing product loyalty. Custom tour group travel specialists guide customers through the delivery of a custom tour from moment of deposit to completion of their custom tour travel experience. Throughout the process, the position works with operations teams to ensure that the program is delivered to the intended expectations. The role reports to the Assistant Supervisor, Custom Tours.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED
- Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year related experience in customer service, sales, or travel industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 1- 2 years MS office applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams
- Strong administrative skills
- Highly organized and detail oriented
- CRM such as Salesforce, Siebel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Collaboration and team player
- Outstanding customer service skills
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS PREFERRED
- Travel industry experience
- Very strong product knowledge of all Globus products
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to learn new systems quickly
- Accounting aptitude
- Retain customer loyalty
- Strong relationship building skills
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Full account maintenance once group deposit has been received
- Be a subject matter expert on custom tours and their respective policies
- Correspond with Air Department regarding air travel arrangements
- Problem resolution management
- Finalize and communicate accurate group details to the applicable operational teams
- Partner with the Business Development Managers and/or ISM to lend sales support
- Coordinate group booking details with travel agents and group leaders
- Maintain records of custom tour bookings as specified
- Develop and maintain solid product knowledge of destinations
- Contribute to a team effort by accomplishing related results or projects as needed
- Assist as backup to Operations associates as needed
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
Customer Care is tasked with growing the Trade side of the business through multiple sales channels; retail travel sellers (primary channel), 3rd party re-sellers and group sales. The Customer Care division includes all business units that interact directly with the customer’s travel agent to sell GVI products, answer inquiries, and resolve problems. The departments under Customer Care are Reservation & Associate Support, Digital Support, Trade Groups, Training, Sales, Service, and Guest Resolution.
