Why does this role exist?The team needs a dedicated UI Designer to translate complex app screens and storyboards into clean, motion-ready user interface flows. This role ensures that motion designers receive precise, simplified, and well-structured UI assets, accelerating production timelines and improving quality. You will bridge client inputs (directions, screenshots, full-resolution screens) into clear, usable designs suitable for animation.
The Impact you’ll make
- Convert complex app screens/storyboards into clear, user-friendly interface flows
- Identify and remove visual clutter while preserving functional intent and hierarchy
- Annotate flows for motion readiness (states, transitions, timing cues)
Motion-Ready Asset Preparation
- Prepare components, frames, and layered assets in Figma/Illustrator suitable for After Effects
- Establish naming conventions, grouping, and export settings for smooth motion handoff
- Create reusable components and variations to support iterative animation
Collaboration & Feedback
- Work from client directions, screenshots, and full-resolution app screens with high accuracy
- Partner closely with motion designers and creative leads to refine flows and states
- Incorporate feedback quickly while maintaining consistency and design rationale
Quality & Consistency
- Maintain visual consistency across flows (typography, spacing, grids, color tokens)
- Perform accuracy checks against source material before handoff
- Document decisions and edge cases within files for team clarity
Workflow & File Management
- Organize projects in Figma and Notion; communicate progress and blockers via Slack
- Maintain tidy file structures, components, and page organization for team use
- Track versions and ensure the latest approved assets are ready for animation
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Proven ability to simplify complex app screens/storyboards into clear UI flows suitable for motion design
- Proficiency with Figma for UI design, components, and file organization
- Working knowledge of After Effects handoff requirements (prepping assets, naming conventions, structure)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when translating screenshots/full-resolution screens
- Availability to work 40 hours/week, Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm CST
- WFH Set-Up:
- Computer with at least 8GB RAM, an Intel i5 core processor/AMD Ryzen 5 Processor and up.
- Internet speed of at least 40MBPS
- Headset with an extended mic that has noise cancellation and a webcam
- Back-up computer and internet connection
- Quiet, dedicated workspace at home
- Technical: Figma, Adobe Illustrator, After Effects handoff; component systems; layer and asset organization; visual hierarchy; UX flow mapping
- Collaboration: Clear communication, responsiveness in Slack, organized documentation in Notion, openness to feedback
