POSITION TITLE: Data Engineer

India (remote)

YOUR ROLE

The Data Engineer will have the opportunity to apply their software development skills, strong math aptitude and their knowledge about finance and accounting related systems in this role. They will be able to contribute immediately, if they have solid experience in system operations, development, on-going support, and also have the financial acumen to quickly learn basic investing concepts.

What you will be doing

One can contribute numerous process steps including:

  • Participate in activities to migrate application from on-premises to a SaaS model.
  • Develop and maintain Linux scripts (i.e. KSH, Bash, Perl, and Python)
  • Job scheduling, managing data feeds and ensure production operations to meet SLA requirements.
  • Develop procedures for change control, business continency, data loads, and dashboards.
  • Trouble shoot and perform root- cause analysis to minimize future issues.
  • Perform or guide system and application upgrades
  • Communicate and collaborate with developers, business users, vendors, and management to meet requirements.

What you bring

  • Overall 3-7years of experience in the industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in a computer science or related degree
  • 1+ years of experience with extract, transform, and load (ETL) methods and tools
  • 1+ years of experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
  • 1+ years of experience with SQL queries and JSON objects
  • 1+ years of experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL and MongoDB
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing automated jobs
  • Experience working with business users
  • Proven history of detail-oriented execution and commitment to customer satisfaction
  • Solid understanding of relational databases, SQL statements, ETL data transformations, shell scripts, JAVA scripts, etc
  • Familiarity with shell scripting and python development
  • Prior experience with monitoring and maintaining Linux systems and operating systems
  • Interest in event streaming architectures, such as Apache Kafka
  • Familiar with cloud technologies
  • Knowledge of data mining, machine learning, data visualization and statistical modeling
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment with multiple stakeholders
  • Creativity and innovation – desire to learn and apply new technologies, products, and libraries
