Who You Are
Pro Bono Net is recruiting for a Software Engineer to join our diverse team of attorneys, technologists and community engagement specialists working to expand access to justice. As a member of our Tech team, you will work to maintain key .NET based web applications as well as support the technical needs across the organization and projects, including but not limited to: testing, report writing, database maintenance, setup/maintenance of third-party tools, and research emerging technologies.
This is a full-time, remote-work position.. We are a national organization with partners across the U.S., a strong program presence in New York State, and an office in New York City. What You'll Do
- Under supervision of our Director of Engineering, lead the maintenance of our key .NET web applications (LawHelpInteractive, Citizenshipworks, Supersite) as well as develop any future .NET based web applications.
- With mentorship of various staff on the IT/Product Team, learn on the job skills covering the wide breadth of IT processes, from technical support to project management support
- Handle level 2 technical support requests, such as bug tracking, database development, third-party system setup and maintenance, network administration, and ad hoc reporting
- Help perform research into new products, technologies and technical solution approaches.
- Help provide demos and training for internal staff on tools and techniques.
- Help consult with other PBN staff on process planning, technical options, scoping, usage and performance analytics and market research.
What You Bring
- At least 2 years of professional experience in .NET programming with knowledge of the programming language (C#, javascript, DHTML, CSS), database programming and management (MS SQL Server), and development environment (Visual Studio, Azure Cloud, Github)
- Broad, general knowledge of Information technology topics such as network administration (M365, Azure and Google Workspace admin), security, reporting (Google Analytics, SQL Server Reporting Services) and SDLC processes (design w/Figma, testing and project management w/Github, etc), social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Instagram, etc) and Generative AI.
- Excitement to understand, learn and guide the development of current and new systems. Demonstrated ability to pick up new technical skills quickly on the job with limited direct training.
- Strong analytical skills and technical aptitude
- Detailed-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to multitask, prioritize and adapt to achieve project results
- A team player with the ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with a wide range of staff levels
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), including ability to translate technical concepts into terms that non-technical staff will understand
- Strong emotional intelligence with ability to contribute to a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative workplace culture
- Demonstrated interest in the nonprofit sector, public interest or social justice arena. Experience in the legal, nonprofit or government sector is preferred
What We Offer
Salary Range: $70,000-$90,000
