About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quality Engineer to define, drive, and own the quality strategy across multiple product lines. This role balances hands-on technical expertise with strategic thinking. The ideal candidate will guide and support engineering teams in building robust test automation while also acting as a key advisor on quality, process, and risk. With at least 8 years of experience, you will collaborate with engineering, product, and program management to champion a culture of quality and deliver exceptional software solutions.
What You’ll Tackle
- Partner with engineering and product leads to define and implement comprehensive, multi-layered test strategies for new and existing features. Advise teams on best practices for E2E, integration, contract, and unit testing.
- Perform regular audits of application quality, test coverage, and processes to ensure system integrity and identify quality gaps. Analyze test data and quality metrics to provide actionable insights and drive continuous improvement.
- Work closely with product and program management to understand product vision, scrutinize requirements for testability, and align quality initiatives with project milestones and business goals.
- Guide the design and implementation of scalable automated test suites. While this is not primarily a coding role, you will be expected to occasionally contribute to the test codebase to establish patterns or tackle complex challenges.
- Conduct targeted manual testing, including exploratory, regression, and usability testing, to uncover issues that automation might miss and to validate the end-user experience.
- Creatively apply AI tooling to augment application and system quality.
- Own the final quality sign-off on major feature releases, ensuring all acceptance criteria are met, and potential risks are clearly communicated and mitigated.
- Act as a quality champion across the organization. Mentor team members on testing best practices and foster a culture where every team member is responsible for quality.
We’re Excited About You Because…
- Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in quality assurance or software testing, with a strong focus on cloud-based technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Experience in TypeScript/JavaScript and the Node.js ecosystem.
- Expertise with modern testing frameworks across the entire test pyramid, such as Cypress or Playwright for end-to-end (E2E) tests, Jest or Vitest for integration and unit tests, and an understanding of contract testing principles.
- Proven ability to translate complex product requirements and user stories into a comprehensive and effective test strategy.
- Experience in various manual testing techniques, including exploratory, usability, and acceptance testing, to complement automation.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills to effectively partner with product managers, engineers, program managers, and other stakeholders.
- A proactive and influential voice for quality within a fast-paced, agile environment.
Expected Pay Range: $171,000 - $198,000 per year salaried*
