The Senior Manager Accounting-Federal position is responsible for cost accounting to be in compliance with all Federal Accounting Standards. This would include creating and approving journal entries and implementing efficiencies where applicable and accounting compliance along with rate creation for federal contracts. The position is responsible for standardizing and documenting processes as well and implementing internal controls for accounting and assist the Controller with internal controls for invoicing.
The Senior Manager Accounting-Federal is expected to be a critical thinker, have good communication skills, have the ability to work on their own and as part of a team. As part of a company wide transformation, the Senior Manager of Accounting-Federal will play a critical role in a New ERP Implementation beginning FY2024
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop rates for Cost Plus Federal Contracts.
- Prepare financial journal entries.
- Responsible for all assigned General Ledger financial reconciliations.
- Compliance with regards to Federal Cost Accounting Standards.
- Point of contact for Federal audits.
- Assist with the controls for the New ERP implementation.
- Standardize and Document Processes
- Support and provide a monthly calendar of all Accounting activities.
- Assist the Controller in establishing best practice internal controls for the Invoicing and Accounting Functions.
- Other duties may be assigned by the CFO or Controller.
Minimum qualifications:
- BS/BA in accounting/finance or relative field.
- 7+ years of accounting experience – 5 for senior 3 for staff
- 3+ years of Federal cost accounting experience.
- Great attention to detail.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Good understanding of GAAP accounting and financial reporting practices
- Familiarity with accounting software
- Perform under minimal supervision.
- Prefer some supervision experience.
- Understanding of internal controls for the accounting function.
- Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written.
- Understanding of internal controls for the accounting function
Compensation is commensurate with experience within the pay band of $105,000 - $137,000
Compensation is commensurate with experience and includes a generous retirement package. Energy Solutions provides an excellent benefits package including medical, dental and vision insurance, other pre-tax contribution plans and an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).
